I just got off the phone with Canon. The secondary mirror in my camera doesn't work anymore (this is the small mirror which is attached to the back of the big mirror you see when you switch lenses).

Canon says it'll cost at least $180 and maybe up to $290. I bought the camera when they first came out (2 years ago) and I've already put $200 into it to fix the hot shoe.

I know it's a judgement call, but I'm trying to decide if maybe it's time to upgrade. Any opinions?

I say it's worth it but I would upgrade anyway just to have two camera bodies to take out into the field.

Even if you want to upgrade.

Fix for $290, Sell for $450+

Dont Fix... Value is 0+

I don't know, it's been serviced before which wiped out the counting, but let's just go with ... ALOT!

hmm - i am up to about 35,000 - something is bound to break soon. maybe before my extended warranty runs out in 30 days - so i don't have to pay for the repair...
