just a thought, how many of you are up to this sort of challenge, maybe DPC can have it ONCE for a change?
Here goes...
DPC SC will select up to 10 photos from the entire DPC library, then from these 10, the challenge is for members to select ONE and use post-processing (within challenge rules, of course) and make that photo AMAZING.
SC can select the 10 photos from anywhere within DPC, maybe even purposely selecting those no-scoring-so-well photos from past challenges? And Yes, the original unedited photo will be downloadable, so you can crop, resize and do whatever post-processing you want to it as long as it confirms to the challenge rules.
Thanks.

That has got to be the worst...
Imagine having judge through 400 images of the same thing.

I think that would be a great idea. It would save me from having to come up with my own idea for a photo! |

It would be interesting, but it will never fly I think. Imagine the howls of outrage from the "this is a photography site, not a photoshop site" crowd. Plus, who'd wanna vote on hundreds of variations of the same thing?
In a related vein, a "fun" challenge would be a no-rules challenge where 10 original images are provided and the challenge is to combine/merge any of the elements from any or all of these images into a new image. But that has NOTHING to do with what DPC is about, at least the challenge portion of the site. That would be a challenge for a digital photomanipulation site.
Robt.

this has been suggested before, and then, as now, the concensus was that while it would be fun to do in the forums, it would never fly as a challenge. |
