I just hooked my internet about a week ago at my house and its been acting weird. For some reason I am not able to see the list of mine or any others challenge submissions or portfolio selection on the profile page. I'm not too computer knowledgeable so any simple suggestions are worth a shot. Thanks. |

this may not fix the problem, but give it a shot anyway. clear your browser's memory cache: in firefox it's in Options > Privacy. if you use a different browser, you can probably find it without too much trouble. good luck. |

If you got Internet Exploder :) things to try,
1) as Mycelium stated clear the cache and/or delete the cookies
Tools drop down menu > Internet Options... > Delete Files (check delete all off-line content) > OK
2) If that don't do it delete the cookies: (you will have to re-login to any sites that have stored Passwords in a cookie)
Tools drop down menu > Internet Options... > Delete Cookies
3) And if all else fails reset Internet Explorer to it's defaults:
Tools drop down menu > Internet Options... > Programs tab > Reset Web Settings... > Uncheck "Also reset my home page" > Yes
Also do you run any anti-spyware software? It is a good idea to update and run it regularly.

I tried the things above and they unfortunately didn't change anything. I can't even change my homepage or save any passwords. I think it might just be infected with viruses or something. I'll try running my virus protection and check for any updates. Thanks for the help. |

If you can't see the thumbnails of the photo's, which I think you are saying . Go to tools, then internet options, advanced, then go down the list to see if you have the box checked that says show image download placeholdersand also the show pictures box, check them both. They will be under the multimedia section. After you check them click ok and close your browser and reopen it, and it might work then. Just a thought |

Sounds a lot like a virus, some of the worst ones do disable settings in IE explorer etc to safeguard themselves
get the latest virus updates, install them then try rebooting into safe mode, usually pressing the F3 or F5 key during startup will achieve that.
When safe mode is running, start your virus checker and see how it goes.
You need to be in safe mode as this basically loads windows with a minimal set of drivers. With luck whichever system files have been infected will not be going and the virus checker will be able to check all files without itself being disabled
Good Luck...............Ray |

I'd lean towards a browser hi-jacking instead of a virus, but it could be the ole Host file redirect virus.
I'd have you download and run Microsoft Antispyware
Microsofts is not the best at grabbing spyware but it does work well for browser hi-jackings and unwanted BHO's (browser helper objects)
It may or may not find anything but it is good to have some sort of anti-spyware utility on there.
Personally I run both Lavasoft Adaware and Spybot: Search and Destroy every other day. If you connect to the net someone is putting something on your pewter daily...

See? It wasn't that hard to figure out what the problem was.
Honestly though, download a free copy of Ad-Aware and scan your computer. You'll be suprised at what you find.
Your computer was probably hi-jacked and most anti-virus programs such as Nortons can't do anything about it.
The part about not being able to change your homepage is a dead give away. That's classic.

Just a note: I use Norton's, Ad-Aware and Webroot Spy sweeper on my computer. No single one will take care of everything.
