I see it as neither sad or funny....the Lord giveth and He taketh away. C'mon guys...we have 1000's of people dead just a couple of hundred miles from us...I'm not doing enuf to help them, but I'm trying (since I dont have any money I'm taking 6 Garbage bags of clothes to someone here in town that has taken in 35 of them!! 35!!!). Let's just try and keep things in persepective. I'm sorry he got creamed...but are we sorry for the flies that we swat at the dinner table? They are beautiful creatures too (check out some of the Macro shots on this site).
C'mon....its all putting things in the proper hierarchy. Like Beagle said...what about the Marines? We don't seemed to get "near as riled up-ed" over them getting killed. (sorry for the southern-ism, what can i say?)
Just remember...its a Gator....better than a child anyday, or a BullDAWG!

edit: Heres the the link to the lady helping 35 ppl from LA

I think that's called roadkill....not needless killing of wildlife.

I think you missed the point. It is not the photo it is the fact that people can find it humorous.

i dont get it... what's so funny about this foto. It's dead & it doesnt look like to was a pleasant death.
Where is the humanity in all this? That was a living being that died quite violently.

Aside from the disgust of the foto (read: also from those that find it funny) it's a really sh*ty picture as well.

yes it is not funny and there is no need to compare this to the reactions some people may have about army personnel getting killed

The situation is tragic in its own and just because some people will not feel the same about 'Marines' getting' killed does not mean you can justify your own disrespectful actions

Im my opinion the best course of action would be an apology, how ever not expected

That would be words, not actions. I don't think anyone here actually killed the aligator or a Marine.

How about a gator that was found on the side of the road with a child in the gators grip. Then along come Marine who went camando and killed the gator to save the save the child's life, However, it was too late and the child didn't survive. Meanwhile a car drives by as the marines turns arounds and then got struck by that passing car and died. They all died. Oh, a dog was barking in the background too. If it's your time to go, it your time to go. Tragic no matter how you view it. There are some things you can't control in life.

To my amazement, this very well could happen. Slim, but could happen now-the-less.
