Hello all,
Just wanted to stop lurking and introduce myself and hopefully be able to contribute. First off, thanks to all who keep this play up and running, and thanks to all the members for their contributions. I have been looking around here for awhile now, reading the forums, tutorials, reviews, challenges, etc. I can easily say this is the single most helpful photography resource on the internet. I hope to use this place as a learning tool by entering the challenges and taking advice and comments from other members. I'm barely even able to call myself a newbie. I'm hoping to work up to being an amateur. As you can see to the left I have a cheaper point-and-shoot, but no complaints. It's all I can afford right now, and really all I need. My goal is one day be able to say that I've outgrown it and need a digital slr or something similiar to meet my needs. Until then, I'll keep pointing, shooting, and learning. | Welcome Casey. You've got some great stuff in your flickr portfolio. Get a membership here and start filling up that 25 meg, enter some challenges and knock yourself out. It's a gas. |

Hello Casey from another newbie. Ditto on all you stated. I just entered my first challenge and so far it's been as strangeghost said - a gas. Everyone here has had some really constructive and positive things to say about my entry. Love the dog drinking in the toilet (your others are really good too) enjoy.

welcome to the asylum, casey and michele! you'll have tons of fun here and learn many things. this is a great group of people and everyone is always willing to help. don't be shy...comment on photos and ask questions...you'll get some great tips.

| Oh yeah, forgot about the rainbow shot one. If anyone is offended by the rainbow shot I apologize in advance. Is is safe for work, but makes an offensive comment in reference to homosexuals. It's not a hate message, but more making fun of the symbol they chose. Don't really want to get into a gay bash/pride discussion though. I just apologize if anyone finds it offensive. |

| I removed the rainbow pic. To me, the most offensive part of it was that it was a horribly post-processed photo. Haha. |
