Today was my day for my employee physical for the new job I just got hired for. Keep in mind, I already gave 2 weeks notice to my old employer, so this is a not-turning back situation.
First I went to HR to get a badge, parking sticker, benefit review, dadada...then off to the physical.
First was the weight check - cool lost 4 pounds somewhere in the past 3 weeks.
Drug test - no problem since I don't use drugs.
Next, uh oh, eye test...yikes. First attempt did not go well - the nurse said I was not passing, and that maybe if we started all over again I would do better. Yep - she was helping me cheat. There were these little boxes with 4 circles in each...only one of the circles was a complete circle however and that is the one you had to tell her (right, left, up, or down) The first time through, she had let me guess twice each time, so at least now I had a fifty fifty chance of getting it right the second time through. Still - just passed by the skin of my teeth. Next was depth perception test. I got 2 out of 5 is all! But, good enough she said. On to color test...had to do that one twice also as I missed 50% the first time. No problems on the peripheral vision thank goodness. I swear this eye test was more thorough than any I have ever had in my entire life! Thank goodness the nurse 'helped' me along.
So, now I know for sure that my vision sucks, as does my depth perception. Plus, it appears I have a slight problem with my reds/greens. My hearing was 100% - I told her that should make up for the crappy vision. If this nurse had been a hard nose, I would not be hired, and my other job would be lost. Thank goodenss there are still cheaters in this world ;-)
Finished up there, and went out to try and see things to photograph.
whew

lol - no it's not a pilot position. Believe me, I can see well enough to do my job. I do however have an excuse now for my awful pics.
As for voting - I tend to give out high scores lately. If you really want me to quite, I will - just know you might be less one score of 10
Linda
Edited to add: distance is where I was failing - so I can see pics close up just fine. Might be a bit off on the colors.

Must be looking through the viewfinder and/or voting on all those pics!
Glad to hear she was willing to help.

Probably from staring at this dang computer, hitting update button, and opening eyes wide in dismay at my scores tanking. |
