Being my first entry for a challenge, I'm keeping an eye on my picture like a hawk to see how it's rating. Comments have been great, but over the last 2 days there have been no more comments and the average score is dropping like a stone! I'm pulling my hair out here. Has anyone else noticed their score drops towards the end of the challenge or is it just my rotten luck? Pardon the paranoia...

It happens, and it's also happening to me this week, but don't fret, sometimes they steadily rise as well :)

This is my first challenge also, but my score is not moved more than a few tenths. I have recieved some comments like "what is it?' thats probably not good. But hey! ,its only my first attempt.

There may also be a sudden bump in your score right before the voting closes as the vote-analyzing software discards "ineligble" votes -- unless this is now being done continuously...

Yeah, well, it'll probably be the usual socks and underpants but I guess I could stick wig on the list (LOL)

Posting a pic here is like dumping wads of cash in the stock market. You got to have to be able to stomach the rises and the falls...especially the falls! Good luck and keep on trying!

My other photos that tanked!

Three challenges ago it started at 7.2 in the first six hours and dropped to a 4.8, to rise to 5.1.
Two challenges ago it started at 4.5 and rose to a 5.485 (my best score so far).
This challenge started at 4.7 and it is still a 4.687.

Very unpredictable, but much fun.

I have closely tracked my on-going scores in the last seven or so challenges, and I can report that, for me at least, the score the image has attained after 75 votes will be the score + or - 0.1 points at which it finishes.

In other words, if after 75 votes, my score is 5.000 then I will finish between 4.900 and 5.100.

This has been exactly true for my images over the last seven challenges.

Exact same thing has happened with my entry! Although this is my 4th entry, all of my other pictures generally steadied themselves around Wednesday - the score would rise and fall but not much.

During the middle of the week, my score started dropping steadily and didn't stop till the weekend. Which I would think is unusual, but since I'm a newcomer I wouldn't know. I guess freaky things can always happen :)

Yeah, I guess the best thing is to aVert my eyes from the left side of my home page and just wait for the surprise (or disappointment) on the following Monday. Oh, what the hell, it's great fun whatever...
Posted my entry for the motion challenge today (here we go again)
