Look at these numbers! I bet nobody did anything like these numbers on film - imagine the cost ... and the hassle

8000 with Kodak CX6330
10,100 with first 300D
7500 so far with second 300D
700 with borrowed 350D
15000 with borrowed D70
All approximated, of course.
All in less than two years :D

I've had my D70s since June, and I'm at 3100 already, and I'm not slowing down at all.

i've had my 20d for about 5 weeks, and just hit 10,000 today.

Skip gets a little twitchy if he hasn't hit the shutter release after about a minute though ;-) I've never seen anyone take quite so many shots.

Had my 300D since 5th April 2005 and taken just under 10,500 pics.
I think I am getting better as I think about an image before I take it to make sure it looks as I want it to, rather that shooting loads and hoping I get a good one.
So now I am taking less than now than I used to.
This also reduces time at the other end for post processing I do less on less pics so I get more time to take more pics.

it takes some of us more effort than others ;-)
ie, this shot
is one of about 75 shot in a 4 minute period. i was there, it was there, and i wanted to practice with the 70-200. still need some more practice... |

The lifetime account goes a little like this....
6538 on my istDS (that's since around jan/feb) plus a couple of thousand on my olympus digital (which I had for about eight months before that). Plus around 14 rolls of film on a point and shoot that I had for a year before that (holiday shots and drunken happy snaps mostly). So all up around 9000 give or take several hundred.

i average about 2,000 a month. Thats personal use stuff. When i'm shooting for work i'll do 200-400 a day maybe. The trick--i think--is learning which ones to keep. Shoot 2,000. Keep 200. 15 end up in the magazine.
I'm still sorting/deleting stock photos I shot for work in the spring.

They say the shutter lasts about 50,000 actuations on the 10D/20D. Anyone had one replaced? If so was it pricy enough that getting another camera is a better idea? ;-)

I have the same camera as you, for about a month longer, I've taken 1996. I need to clean out my unsorted photos folder, I've got 800mb of jpeg pics lol. Most of them have mistakes etc and I will never be able to fix anyways. |
