a lot of well deserved praise, a huge boost to self-esteem, their picture on the home pagewith ribbon and a virtual ribbon on their profile.

of course ... you'll be disliked if you actually do brag ... but at least you know you can if you want to ... site counsel has given you the option :)

LOL That's true... you wouldn't want to actually brag, but there's still the satisfaction of winning, and the warm, fuzzy feeling that comes with recognition from people you respect. |

I heard if you win too often people will pay you not to enter any more--but I wouldn't have first-hand knowledge of that.

Like the Right to Free Speech, we all have the right, but it is often wise not to exercise that right.
Now, what if we could put The Right to Free Speech in a room with The Right To Remain Silent and let them fight it out. :)

This is the part that some people can't believe. My wife always likes to say that ... "You don't even win anything!" ... but that's what makes it even more exciting in some way.

Satisfaction is the prize, and that's part of what makes this site special. Material rewards increase the potential for cheating and score tampering. I've said in the past that what you REALLY win is photographic knowledge, which is useful outside the challenges too.

Even though there is no prize I've entered more challenges here than any other contest combined.....x10! Winning that little ribbon really is something special. I guess it's becasue people kow the competition so well and with the amount of people entering it's not easy to win a ribbon (Heida screams from a distance "speak for yourself").
