| I searched the forums for this topic, but couldn't readily find one. What are your experiences with the hack? Somewhere I read the advice of getting used to the camera first for a couple of months, which I now did, and then consider installing the hack, which I now do. But I'd like to hear some experiences first. Anyone? For me the FEC seems the most improvement, but I could never find out if it actually works using the hack? |

I've got the Russian hack installed for over a year now...works great. FEC works as advertised - just don't forget to reset it. I have done that and ended up with a few shots where the flash was a stop or two under what I wanted.

i use undutchables hack, FEC works fine. so does the mirror lockup which i like for macros and stuff

Flash Exposure Compensation, mirror lock-up, etc.. |

undutchables.
//groups.yahoo.com/group/canondigicamhacking/ has the files, info and support for this and the russian hack.

It's been so long, I can't even remember which hack I have on my camera. My favorite features, I can remember though :).. Mirror lockup, ISO 3200 (though they are extremely noisy, I have had to use it on a couple occasions), resize embedded JPEG to small+coarse.

Unduchable and the Russian Hacks offer the same functionality. Only difference is that the undutchable allow the features in the basic modes while the Russian one only allows them in the advanced, Av/Tv/M/P modes.
I've the Russina version and it's perfectly reliable. The FEC makes noticible difference and is nice to have. I mainly use the SET button for the image review, use the smallest JPEG size with RAW, and use ISO 3200 when I need to.

| I use the undutchables hack! I use the FEC quite a bit and it seems very reliable. I like the option of RAW in the basic modes too! I never used to use them anymore because I'd rather have the RAW output file! And now I have it!:) |
