Tommorow will be worse here. The worst of it won't hit us until tommorow afternoon. Hopefully it will be downgraded.

I've been interceding diligently on behalf of those in Katrina's path. Almost a year ago we were the brunt of two hurricanes and I know how difficult it is. We had categories 3 and 4 an it was so intense. Just this week we finally got our much needed repairs done to our house. Category 5 is heading towards our Gulf Coast neighbors and I really, really feel for them. Recovery is slooooooooow! Life is still not completely back to normal around the Treasure Coast, where I live. One of the worse parts of the aftermath was living a couple of weeks without power or running water. It was sooo very hot and humid, and just terrible. These folks in the path of Katrina, really need our prayers.
Amazingly there was some prophecy that was brought forth a year ago on Aug 29 that MAY have foretold of this. OUr whole church spent time praying for the folks in the path of the storm today. We are taking it very seriously. We have the power to pray, but with that comes the responsibility to do so. Our prayers are with you all, and will continue to be.

Hello all....
We made it ! I went through 110 mph winds for about 6 hours. Water was coming in the house (just a little). After...we had a little damage. Remember this was at my mother in law's house 35mi north of New Orleans. Hurricane took turn and spared us. Even with the destruction...new orleans was on the "weak" side of the storm!
My home is in Metairie, La. 6 mi west of N.O. I don't have the status of my home....likely flooded. We cant go back for a look until labor day. We can get what we need and then leave.....
I am now in Houston...I will arrive in San Antonio Tx Thursday and stay with wife's relatives.
I have 5 siters 1 brother and my father that I have not heard from. I think they all got out. However, my dad went from N.O. to Picayune MS which got the eye of the storm.
I'll check back and post a few pics in a day or so...
Thanks for your support.

I am glad that you are safe with your family. It was indeed a fortunate event that the hurricane took a different turn - for the best (considering everything else). God bless.

Hello again,
I'm in San Antonio. I still have not heard from my 5 sisters, brother and father. They all scattered in different directions. My father was caught in the eye of the storm.
I'll keep you posted.
Thanks again,
Kenskid |

Thinking of you and your family. Hope you have heard from your siblings and father by now.
I lived through Hurricane Gilbert in 1988 (at the time, was the largest hurricane ever recorded and was a category 5) - which was horrendous - but what I see on the news tops anything I experienced. Our prayers are with you all!

Welcome to San Antonio. I visited the USAF/City base where a lot of the homeless escapees from NO and other places are being housed. My heart goes out to everyone injured or damaged during this storm. It looks like the people of San Antonio are really trying to take care of everyone. I'm sure many feel rejected and abused but I hope they will eventually see that we all do care. I dropped off some food for the shelters and was able to talk to a few folks. Most are very happy to be away and have a clean place to stay while things are worked out.
Feel free to drop me an e-mail or note. Sounds like you have family here so all should be improving for ya'll. There are a few DPC'rs here in San Antonio and a few more in Austin about 80 miles up the road. Enjoy your stay.
