You'll probably think this is some sort of joke, but it isn't. Or maybe I'm just descovering this after everyone else.
Ken Rockwell describess the technique here.
If you have a sb800 or sb600 you can do this and set your flash of the camera withought spending money on a wireless transmiter or a cable. Buy buy macro flashes for me! Tomorow I will do some macros with this technique mounting the sb800 in a small tripod to do fill slah for macro.
Just had to tell this is too cool. It would be a shame if the D200 can't suport this feature. |

yea its a nice feature...i just hate all the preflash junk with it...i just use a pc cord to one flash and light slaves...till i afford pocket wizards or quantum 4i's

Thanks! I gave up trying to interpret the manual on how to use the sb600 off-camera. I was almost resigned to saving for an sb-800 for controlling the one I've got.
You just saved me $300... |

using the sb600 off camera (w/ a lumiquest ultrasoft) is how i got the lighting just right in my submission to the dairy challenge...
see if you can guess which one it was... |
