Looks a bit busy with the icon behind the font.

| Yes I also think that it is a bit busy. There is too much text for my liking --- as a suggestion I would perhaps omit the "motto" and the "call appointment" line. |

The imagery is good, but I'd suggest simplifying the typography. Too many changes in typeface and size make it harder to read than it should be, and a little more space around the type would help too. Otherwise, nice job!
Ironically, I'm working on my brother's business card in another window. ;-)

So when ya'll decide on the final version .... where does everyone get them printed and at what cost? Good info for a lot of us.

| I agree with what everyone said so far, one more idea, I like the foot okay and I know you probably need that in there, but could you make it another color or even just an outline? The color just draws me right to it. That's it. Great shot of Gracey - good choice |

I usually just print them at home. I have had a couple thousand printed before and they just never seem to match? I am just kinda picky.

Nice look to it.
In a way, seems too busy.
A business card in a way is a good example of less is better in my opinion.
The "Specializing in Babies, Children, Famaily & Friends" is good, and in a way, kinda like a slogan (may actualy be too?), but the location blurb under it could really be left out. The card shows a young girl, a good relation with barefoot & kids is already established. By appointment only, call now also is unecessary in my opinion.
The phone number & email section should be right aligned too, vs. center aligned. Creates a virtual border in a way.
Just ideas... |

Hi Brian. I love the image you chose. It's really cute. I find that there is a lot of information on your card and combined with the colors (brown?) and stroking it's a bit difficult to read easily. I would remove one of the designs - probably the swirl, and change the foot print to pink to match the image...and maybe move it to where the swirl is now...? Lose the border, have the image go to the edge, if possible.
To simplify the text how about just:
--------------------------------------------------------
Barefoot Photography
"Timeless, artistic portraits...!"
- Babies - Children - Families - Friends -
Brian 270/519-0779
Angela 270/388-2385
barefootphoto2003@yahoo.com
daydreamarts.org
--------------------------------------------------------
Is Babies and Children redundant?
No need to say "by appt. only" on your card since they'll have to call or go to your web site for more info anyway. You don't list an address so it's not like they'll just show up on your doorstep. The "By appt. only" can be stated on your web site, if not already.
Same goes for the locations. That info they could find on your web site. If they don't have internet then you could discuss that, and other info, over the phone when they call.
Hope this helps. I'm sure you'll get some even better advice. Again, love that picture of the little girl!

You're welcome.
Just thinking...for a more personalized look, could you borrow a footprint from one of your kids or neighbor's kids to use on the card (where the swirl is but low opacity) instead of that generic clipart one? :-)

If at all possible, ditch the 'yahoo.com' email address. To me, that just screams "amateur". It's like when I see business cards with @aol.com email address, along with a custom web address. I'm always like, "ummm... why?"
You already own daydreamarts.org, so if you can't set things up to use your webhost's email service, at least set it up so that mail sent to "brian@..." forwards to your yahoo address.
Also, consider getting a domain dedicated to "Barefoot Photogrpahy" so people aren't confused when they go to daydreamarts.org. (barefootphoto.net appears to be available, and domain names / hosting are cheap these days!)
Just my 2ยข

like mentioned looks busy. Here is my 2 cents.
Lose the "call today" sounds too much like a TV ad, makes me wonder what will be thrown in for absolutly free if I call now. ;)
Next, is it really necessary to say email before your email address? Everyone basically knows what it is now a days.
You probably don't have to tell them there are samples at your website, just maybe list the site.
Can you either lose the flower and footprint background or wash it out more so it is less apparent. I understand the reason for the footprint but really think I would stay with just the cute photo on the left or maybe an image of kid's bare feet instead.
Are you going to print these yourself or have a shop do it? If going with a shop (kinko's? or just check your phone book for print shops) I would recommend taking a sample (probably on disk) to them to see if they can do a sample and get their advise on layout too.
As far as pricing, when I worked at Kinko's years back, printing color images started at just over $1.00 on regular paper and went up depending on the card stock used. Usually a $9.99 setup fee to setup the cutter and $.75 a cut per stack of 100 sheets (usually like 9 cuts when laid out landscape 4 across by 3 down). (Lots of this was sometimes reduced but don't tell my boss) It may sound expensive but sometimes really works out cheaper than some off-set printing companies that charge for color setups and per color.
It is a nice looking card with a good image good luck.
edited...looks like I'm late on my suggestions

Kinda like this
(also dropped the word email for 2 reasons:
The whole world knows the @ sign and made the line a little shorter and more balanced)

Thats a good suggestion eddy! I actually thought the same thing. I am currently working on my own website, and for the time being, my girlfriend just put some samples of my work on hers, so it really isnt my website. I will have a brian@soon! Websites are alot harder to develop than I was hoping? Thanks for the input!
