Assignment #5 Let's capturing some of those textures and tones through a black and white finish.

Jeileen, I'm gad yhou didn't specify bywhich Thursday this assignment was due!

Here are a couple of San Francisco landmarks (I have discovered that these sleek high-rises intimidate me, as I cannot identify their personalities well enough to tell a story about them, thus the structures that have evolved though time seem to work for me)

This one is at the Waterfront with the Bay Bridge in the background:

The second two are from the Pacific Ocean. Louis' is very near the Cliff House which, perhaps due to our August fog, was not photographic today.
..

I'm not sure my dodging and burning techniques are up to par, and I'll look forward to your help on that.

I'll bump this once, just to see if this forum, begun in early July, still has much of any life to it.

I'm still here. Left you some comments. Don't know what happened to Jeileen...

Thanks, kpriest.

Yes, Louis' is perched on the side of a cliff all by its self. The builders back in 1937 must have done a good job nailing it to the cliff, as it still seems sturdy.

I am still here. I was giving folks some time to catch up. I am going to go comment. Tomorrow I will post our next mission, just in time for the weekend . . .

Glad to hear we are still "on". I'm heading out of town tomorrow for a week of painting and photography (I know, it's a tough life) so I'll check in before I leave to see if our next mission is on the board.

Okay, I don't mind those 9:00pm witching hours(pst). They are kind of fun. But this is the first internet access I've had in a week and I'm still wandering.

So may just have to miss this assignment (er, due yesterday)

Okay, I had some time to go out and try for night scenes tonight so, er, even though I'm not on deadline, here are some images...

These are all handheld, or braced against the car door.
