I understand that DPC consists of many amateur and professional photographers. One way of defining whether you are an amateur or a Professional, is to compare your income from photography to that from your mainstream business.
I am an Engineer.
My income from the mainstream (Service) is Rs. 25,000 per month.
My income from Photography (as on date) is - nil.
I am an amateur photographer.
Just wondering how many would like to share this statistics.

Another way to define yourself a pro is when you can no longer compete in amateur competitions or you have received ANY compensation for your work (see: Olympics, etc). So in that, you're a pro too smilebig. :)

My ratio is aprox 10:1 regular job/photgraphy. It used to be alot more, but I'm trying not to do anymore weddings in fact I've turned down about 10 this year. |
