Hello, Im new to the site, just curious as to how limited in lens selection I am when shooting with a 3/4ths camera. I know sigma is making 3/4ths and I know Zuiko obviously does but are there any other options?
thanks,

The standard you are referring to from Olympus is called 4/3rds (as in four thirds). I believe Sigma makes 2 lenses and there are another 7-10 more produced by Olympus (Zuiko). More are coming out and Panasonic has just joined the 4/3rds community as well. The lenses available for your camera can span a large range of focal lengths from 14mm to greater than 600mm (35mm equivalents). But most likely you will only need only a couple of lenses (the 14-54 and the 50-200) and maybe the 1.4 teleconverter. That will get you a range in just two lenses from 28 to nearly 600. That's enough for most general shooting. In addition, there's a macro lens if that's your bag. Enjoy! |

Just saw the lenses you already have. Just those two give you a range of 28-300mm (2x crop facto on 4/3rd lenses). If you purchase the 1.4 teleconverter to go along with your lenses then you can extend the range to 420mm. |

Welcome aboard. On another note...your the second new person I saw today that has the e-volt...what are you guys doing? Rubbing it in my face that I can't have the camera I've been dying for since last year? Come on it's not fair to gang up.
Seriously though, how you like that camera? Can't wait to see some more images from it.
