Hi, I'm reasonably new to Dpchallenge, although I've been registered a few months I haven't at this stage entered any challenges and I don't know if I can. My problem is I can not set the date on my camera, I can get the exif information but it all comes up with the same date 01/01/00. I have read the manual back to front and also gone onto the website but there is no mention of setting the date. I have a basic camera a 3.1 megapixel Concord. My question is if their is no way of setting the date can I still enter the challenges.

The manual states on page 50 that the camera saves files to jpeg with EXIF 2.2 so we know it should save your settings.
To set date go to SETUP > CAMERA INFO > DATE. See page 25 & 26 of manual.
If you don't have a manual here is the online one for your camera.

Thanks for your reply SDW65 you are right there is mention of the date on page 25 and 26 SETUP > CAMERA INFO > DATE. But as you can see from the diagram the only choice when displaying the camera info is to return to the main menu. There is no way of changing the date displayed. |

I know this sound simple but did you set the mode switch to the icon that looks like a camera (not the >)? |

Well I know this isn't the right answer, but unless you think you have a solid shot at placing in the top 5, why not just submit to the challenge anyway and take your chances??? |

Yes SDW65 i did set the icon to camera, I've been playing around with it for the last 15 minutes pressing all combinations of buttons when I have the camera info up but I still can't change the date.
Yes JayWalk I did think of that because I don't think I have much chance of placing in the top 5 and by the time I have enough experience with digital cameras to be good enough I hope to have a better camera. |

Yes, there's a return option on that screen but can you scroll to date and actually select it? When you do that what happens?
It looks like that may be for info only. You may have to call the support number provided in the manual.

No cpanaioti you can't scroll to the date the only option seems to be to return to the main menu. I think you are right it must be for info only.
I will have to call the support number to find out.
Thank you all for your assistance.
