OK, so I just took a shot that I really like, however it is a self portrait. Now it's nothing too revealing at all, but (unfortunately) I think it will do relatively well and here lies my problem: The image may be there in my profile as one of my top rated challenges for all to see (including friends and family).

Now is there any way to remove it after the challenge is over? Or should I just stop being such a wuss and make the sacrafice? Hmmmm... what to do, what to do...

I know exactly what you mean. My wife is willing model for an appropriate shot, but once it's on the site, it's on the site.

choose wisely. I don't believe removal is an option.

Well....I went and did it. I entered the Nude challenge...myself as the model and yes 100% nude. I can't wait for the reaction on this one.

And it felt very liberating walking around the house naked while doing this shoot.

Here's my self-portrait nude shot...

I'm SO tempted to enter it just for laughs, even though it would be DQ'd for so many reason's. It would be just hilarious to see how it scores.

Whats sad is that I have rubenesque models I can shoot for this challenge, BUT i wont subject them to the criticism of their size...or the fact that they may have a sag or droop where the person whos looking for erotic nudes wouldnt like it.

I for one will vote first on the photo whether its taken nicely good color or tone, in focus, nicely posed, great background. THEN i'll look for whether its in good taste or not.

I'm not looking to mark down for a lot of things like love handles, fat hips, droopy breasts... I'm looking for a GREAT picture no matter what size the woman or man is... no matter how OLD they are.

I SERIOUSLY doubt/hope that is not a concern here. Criticism may be abundant for composition, lighting, technical attributes, etc, etc, etc. I sincerely HOPE that no one would be critical of the choice of models. I for one would not criticize that. Some of the best nudes I've seen have been of those society may consider "large" or "old".

It's been shown in the past to *be* a problem here. Also, lately, the site has picked up quite a component of younger, still maturing males that seem to be looking forward to this challenge as an "erotica" free for all. Not many, but a few, and that saddens me to an extent.

I agree. I think the studio photogs here are capable of doing this, too. But they're probably also the ones with access to fabulous models. I'm hoping to see that one amazing shot of a regular person.

the people on this site are nicer than you give them credit for - no one said a peep about my bloated budda belly in the illusion challenge. Now i dont doubt i might have scored a decimal or two better is i had a taunt supermodel belly, but i dont and i like my little roll of belly fat (though it was a bit too pizza fat in that photo for my likings haha).

Personally i strongly prefer rubenesque models for nudes that the skin with implant type. I'm not a fan of erotic nudes in general - because very few people who shoot them are actually good at photography. Everyone is a heffner wannabe. I love a natural nude.

I'm surprised on how few entries there are. I would be expecting around 75 by now. I'm sure people will be submitting many others on the last day though.

I shot mine, a self-portrait, on Monday, while I still had the kahonas (sp?) to submit. I'm a normal person, and I'm older, and I don't expect to score better than a 5, but just to do it was great. Even if I had to worry about the neighbors watching.

Now I have itchy edit fingers...

How do you know how many entries there are? Is this posted somewhere?

Hello all,

As for the comments about rubenesque models, I prefer them to the "model stereotype". I approched my wife about this challenge and she lovingly agreed to be my model. I have only been taking photos for about 3 months now. She is really supportive of me.

Being a "rubenesque" woman, I warned her that some of the comments we could get might put her down due to her size. Her statement to me was "as long as you think I'm beautiful....who cares."

She is awesome.

BTW - I entered my photo, and got the email that says my photo was recieved, however when I go to the submission page to load an updated version it isnt there. How can I tell if the photo was really recieved. If I resubmit I don't want to be DQ'ed. Help anyone??

There is nothing wrong or ugly about big or old - it is life and nudes celebrate that, no?

Rubens wasn't wrong! Here's to some more meat on those bones! LOL

I look forward to those different type of shots. Bring 'em on!

You won't get DQ'd for resubmitting- if it's not there try it again!
