What's reasonable to ask for my first wedding shoot? They're asking my to be there for a little over an hour and a half. It's all very last minute, hence my barage of questions. I need to get back to the guy ASAP about the fee.

Ever done one before?

Are you printing the photos?

I'd say $500 + raw cost of developing photos. Especially if it's only an hour and a 1/2. If you were to be there for 4 hours and also to catch the bride getting dressed, etc. Than $1,000.

No this is my first, and from what I understand so far, they'll be doing the printing. I'll just be doing very basic post, to make sure things look good.

It's a very small ceremony, with minimal formal possed shots, so I don't think it'll be a ton of work.

yeah, for no experience and only shooting for just over an hour..sounds reasonable.

Yeah - for little post processing and 90 mins shoot, you'll probly devote about 4 or 5 hours to the whole thing. Not a bad return, but not expensive for them.

Thanks folks. They've offered $125, which I think I'll accept. Partly because it's people I know (coworkers), so I consider it less of a "job" per say and partly because as it's my first wedding I feel uncomfortable asking for much. I'm confident in my abilities as a photographer, but don't want their expectations to be too high since I've never dealt with the logistics of a wedding before.

Once you take the job, high money, low money or no money, expectations start. You will get NO respect as a "low paid" photographer, just so you know. If the money isn't a big deal, $125 will work - just make sure you do VERY little to NO post.
