Sunday 21st. Time and meeting place, not sure but I'm planning on a sunset shot and then starting. But the yahoo group is meeting at little tokyo first and then we'll take some neisei week shots, rest up, I might do a RSE workflow presentation on my laptop, rest up and do some night shooting.

Ah, sadly I cannot join then. It's my sister's 24th birthday. She's in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and I am going to see her! It's part of Shakespear Under the Moon: //www.independantplayers.com/moon.html
We have a birthday lunch first, then a family dinner before her play. Well, maybe next time...

We used to just go out and shoot all night in LA, there's plenty going on. Usually wound up at the flower market at about 4am or whenever it opened.

Ok,
It's gonna be at 7PM after a Yahoo dSLR club meeting. We're gonna shoot the sunset and go from there.
I could really use suggestions on locals and vantage points. If anyone has suggestions or wants to join, please contact me.

Tips: It's easy to park in downtown at night. Most of the meters don't run after 6pm. Drive down Figueroa or Flower, (north of Wilshire) and look for parking on the side streets (close to the fincial district, the library or pershing square (on the financial district side).
The bridges are great! They'll take you from one hotel to the next. It's easy to sneak into the hotels if there is only one or two of you, otherwise, just ask for public access to the bridges.
Go up to the Art Museums and Concert Hall area. There are glowing fountains at night. Nice views from the parking garage close to Disney Hall (on the East side of it).
Great view of ALL of downtown... Figueroa Terrace. From 110 South (from Pasadena), exit Sunset (it's right after Chinatown). It's an easy exit to miss. Make a right when you get to the stop sign at the end of the exit ramp, drive up (curve left) around and you are on Figueroa Terrace. Drive behind my old apartment building (at the top of the hill) and look out at all of Downtown LA. If it's clear, it will be a great view!
Don't wander into Crackton (aka East and South of Pershing Square) at night unless you have your car nearby and stay together.
Too bad I can't go. Enjoy!
