Wow, those are some great shots from Florida. I went there myself last year(July) scuba diving and got some photos myself. Of course my sunset isn't as good as yours with the grass silhouettes. |

Thanks muchly for feedback on pics.
Idnic - sorry - it was enough to drive a billion miles and organise mine and my friends kids. Tea wasn't even an option!
Personally, I think Universal's Islands of Adventure was superb (they show Disney how to do it) and the staff are much friendlier. Hulk is a great ride.
What I haven't mentioned is that I did go to Cocoa Beach for the launch of the Mars orbiter. However, I had asked a friendly resident (who had seen three previous launches) which tower it was taking off from. He pointed to either of two sets of towers [can you read where this is going yet?!] so I set up my long lens and trained it on the site. Dead-on the countdown I scanned both sites for the ignition smoke but saw nothing. I heard a fantastic rumble and frantically searched for the lift-off. Nothing. So I looked up and noticed a wiggly plume of smoke where the orbiter had departed from a set of towers to the far left, out of sight from the beach!
So all I can say is that I've heard a launch, while the rest of my family (who I left on the beach 200 metres away) all saw it. They described it as large flare going up and said that I didn't miss much, but I lnow that my lens would have got the lot in detail, so I was absolutely gutted! Hopefully, there'll be a next time - and I can see the extremely funny side of it. |

Jon, nice pics.
We're off to FLA in November.
Friends (Floyd/ John - did you meet him at one of the GTGs?) have a villa in Orlando that we're staying at with them.
Been many many times before but any tips on anything new in last couple of years?

Really beautiful images. I have to say your son looks angelic. Like a little cherub, so beautiful. You really captured the beauty of Florida. Makes me want a vacation! |
