I have a canon 20D and a 580Ex flash, on the back of the flash LCD in the top left corner it showes E-TTL, now canon 20D has E-TTL II But in the lcd of the flash it doesnt say that, but is it using that without showing it,
did this make sense,

It won't show E-TTL II just E-TTL

E-TTL II is an upgrade from E-TTL. The 580Ex flash came out before E-TTL II.
