First shot out of my new Tamron SP 28-75mm 2.8 XR Di. I think I'm gonna like this one.
100% Crop and Post right from the camera.
Av Mode, ISO-200, F/7.1, 1/250sec @ 75mm
I shoot the 20D in Parm 1 with +1 click of sharpen if anyone wants to know that little tidbit of Info.

| Pretty nice Andy. Question, if you shoot RAW does it make a difference if you set your camera to sharpen? I ask becasue I shoot RAW and have not changed my setting from the default. |

On a 20D, all in-camera adjustment settings affect only the JPG. On a Nikon D70, I'm not sure. I would normally have said it's the same, except that I know that I know that Nikon makes some adjustments (specifically, white balance) *before* storing the RAW data. |

When shooting RAW that is the advantage of it that the camera dosnt edit the info. Settings are for JPEG.

I do not believe that Nikon make adjustments either. As for the white balance issue that involves the way they store it, not how they apply it. They use a proprietary system which caused some controversy because it hampered other venders of RAW conversion software. |

Looks good! Still waiting on mine, dammit. Working with a loaner Canon 28-135 f/3.5 IS meanwhile. I'm almost tempted to pay the difference and buy it, it's very nice. But I want that f/2.8, and I don't need the 135mm, really, since I have the 70-200 f/4L...

when i looke dup this lens on canadacamera.com there was no SP before the name..is it the same camera and what is SP?
it was about $530 Canadian, and i am trying to figure out how to make this work

It's a Tamron equivalent of Canon calling their high-end lenses "L" glass. Since Tamron puts the SP in front of their own name ("SP Tamron 28-75mm....") It seems like a lot of sites drop it for sorting purposes, is my best guess. As far as I know there's never been a non-SP version of this lens.
