Who would ever think porcupines could be considered cute.

Awww...they are really cute! Good shots, nice and sharp. You were lucky to get such an opportunity!

It was a special photographer's outing at the zoo. We were let in to areas that you don't normally have access to as a regular zoo visitor. Also, we got to follow Lucy the elephant on her regular morning walk outside her enclosure.

28-135 IS USM

BTW - I was inside their enclosure and less than 5 feet away. I took a picture of the quills as well. That's the end that's not so cute.

That's cool you had this opportunity. Hope you watched your step in Lucy's area! ;^)

More pic's to come it sounds like? Was it an all day event, or was your time limited to an hour or two?

2 hours prior to the zoo opening.

I have a few more elephant photos to process as well as a couple of bird shots though IMO the porcupine shots turned out the best (the ones posted only had sharpening applied and/or minimal curves adjustment).
