Only if you want to succumb to the lens disease that affects we DSLR owners. The symptoms are a lighter wallet and a heavier and heavier camera bag.

First thing to ask is why you want to upgrade. Once you've figured out why you want to make the jump, then you can decide to make the leap. For me it was easy. I really missed out working with an SLR and my old camera was limiting in some ways, so I decided to go for it. That was 14 months ago and I have spent a whack of dough on toys for the DSLR since then.

I just purchased mine a few weeks ago and have found that I have a new fever for photography... I think it's a great purchase and I wouldn't have it any other way personally.... Now I find myself pricing lenses I have no business buying... Oh well, maybe my wife will be good to me and I won't have to buy them ;-)

If price is an issue (my camera is so far 1/10th of the price of my photo stuff) you might also consider Minolta's dimage A series (A200 is the latest model, I think). I used to have a Minolta dimage 7i, which is an older cousin of the A series, and those cameras have everything about dSLRs, excluding the price for extra glass (and excluding the freedom that comes with extra glass).

Actually, there are some things my Eos 300D lacks that the Minoltas have, such as spot metering and PC connectors (not sure about the English term for those).
