Details: Pick a famous photograph from the past and try to reproduce the image. Your title should be the title of the famous image.
Advanced Editing
Here is an example: BTW it was taken on August 14, 1945 (60 years old yesterday) and still making the news.
Good Read Below about the picture and how the photographer was able to capture the picture.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
One of the most famous photographs ever published by Life magazine was shot in Times Square on V-J Day. Alfred Eisenstaedt Alfred Eisenstaedt (December 6, 1898 - August 24, 1995) was a photographer and photojournalist.
He was born in Dirschau, West Prussia (now Tczew, Poland) and emigrated to the United States in 1935, where he remained until his death, living in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York.
Eisenstaedt worked as a photographer for Life magazine from 1936 to 1972. He is most renown for his candid photographs, which he made using a 2 1/4 by 2 1/4 inch Rolleiflex twin-lens reflex camera. His most famous photograph is of an American sailor kissing a young woman on V-J Day in Times Square in 1945.
..... was in the square taking candids when he spotted a sailor "running along the street grabbing any and every girl in sight," he later explained. "Whether she was a grandmother, stout, thin, old, didn't make any difference. I was running ahead of him with my Leica looking back over my shoulder...Then suddenly, in a flash, I saw something white being grabbed. I turned around and clicked the moment the sailor kissed the nurse." Eisenstadt was very gratified and pleased with this enduring image, saying, "People tell me that when I am in heaven they will remember this picture."

Ah, yes, I have definitely seen that photo!
Sounds like a cool idea. Could be really challenging. Like a tribute kinda thing.
...or like being in a band and doing a cover song or a remake :-)

In an interesting twist, the reason it's in the news is they've just put up a statue based on it. |

I thought it was in Times Square, near where the event took place. I could be wrong though, I think I just heard something on the radio and I wasn't paying complete attention. |

My rain challenge entry was going to be a reproduction of "singing in the rain". I made up my mind to go for it and don't enter unless I was able to get the shot. I was not able to get the shot, rain did not cooperate with me at the right time of day. Here was what I was going to try to reproduce in the rain challenge.

Sorry to hear about all the turmoil in your country, it is devastating and may peace be with you and your fellow countrymen. But you can do a google search on the Internet and find a famous photograph. It don't have to be from your homeland, it could be anywhere in the world. |

Mavrik...I think this one is more famous from that fight (second image)? Also, have you seen the overhead shot of the ring from Ali's 'Rumble in the Jungle' fight? It's a knockout shot in every sense but I can't find it on the web right now! The sports photographer set it up in the lighting rig and only had one shot triggered remotely....good timing. |
