I thought one of the points in saving in .PSD is so that I can reopen it and have the history saved. Doesn't seem to be happening. Is there another way to accomplish this? or do I just have to change a setting? |

When you start working, start up an action recording. That's the only way I know.

There is no realistic way of saving the history. The file would be beyond huge. We're talking, potentially, a Gig or even more depending on the file. You can log the hitory to a text file so that you have a record of what you've done, but that's not the same thing, of course.
The best method of ensuring that you can step back effectively is to use layers effectively. It sometimes takes longer to create a new layer and make/blend in modifications there in stead of doing quick job on the base layer, but if you mess up and have to step back, you're in much better shape that way.

Yes, I will have to get in the habit of doing that more. I had dabbled with it, but mainly get impatient and worked on the same layer unless it was necessary to use another. I'll try that on important pictures in the future. |
