Simple question,..

what is the best features i need in a monitor to have the best picture quality for photoes?

you know.. seeing true color and not something you see and print differently (even after adobe gamma)

i have really bad screen now and i have an ofer to buy "polyview v293"
which has contrast 1:800 and refresh rate 25ms..

so what do you guys think?

Sorry, don't know much about monitors, but I'll bump the thread for you.

Subtle, deapee. ;-)

I also don't know too much, but I've just bought a Sony SB95AB 19" flat panel. 800:1 is better than my 700:1 Sony (which is pretty high itself), but the 25ms response time (it's not "refresh rate") is slower than the 16ms of my Sony. I considered a Sony just below mine (£10 difference), which was 25ms, so I guess there might not be a lot in it.

Sorry, that's the best I can offer..
