Because the oil companies keep the supply of diesel low, knowing that commercial truckers will have to buy fuel no matter what the price.

Oil companies have been reporting ever-increasing profits (not just revenues).

Spazmo99,

I understand your points. Big questions for a rant thread on "Limiting government/choice"

Perhaps we can start one there.

We could, but I specifically avoid rant forums like the plague, I find them to be an unnecessary irritation. I think my participation in this thread is done anyway. I can agree that there has to be a tradeoff, but the trick is in finding the balance point.

No need to reduce speed that much on the curves LoL

Nah - not with the baby in there, but it does give her confidence that when she puts her foot down to get out of trouble it flies!!
And being a 4 wheel drive it sticks to the road like glue.

It is all about tax.

Price of regular gasoline is 6.6 USD per U.S.gallon in Holland, but 64% of that price is tax. Diesel tax is 51%. Check out this link.

By the way, anyone checked the price of bottled water recently ?

That's what I thought. Specially if this car has big wheels and Toyo proxes tires. 17" and up will stick like glue!
