I've seen a few, and there's 1 or 2 features that split them...
What I want (easier :-)
Minimum 6mp (preferably higher)
Low Noise (something like the Fujifilm F10)
Reasonable zoom (the fujifilm F10 only has 3x)
could i live with a shorter zoom.... if i had to i guess
help please! :) |

The Panasonic FZ-30 is due out before too long. I have the 20 and it has some noise problems. I believe the 30 has a larger ccd to help with that and I think it is 6mp or higher. Zoom is unreal. Might be worth researching. |

I used to own an FZ20 before I upgraded to the Nikon D70 (which i've just sold)
I don't think I want anything as bulky as that, because my intention is to one day re-buy a DSLR - and keep the point and shoot/prosumer for more discreet situations.

Wait a minute, the D70 is a prosumer camera. Are you looking for a small point and shoot camera?

What about the Canon S70? It's small and supports RAW.

i had an s50 so am a little reluctant to go back to something so similar, i believe its also been surpassed for physical size/features now anyway?
ie: Panasonic FX7/8 - 10x optical zoom - image stabiliser etc
fuji f10 - supports up to ISO 1600 (although 800 looks the max ussable)
but the f10 lacks major manual control :( |

It is a DLSR. he was obviously mistaken. I recommend anything by canon in the G series like the G6 or the powershot pro 1

Pro one is L glass and goes to 200mm (I'm pretty sure)
Nikon 8800 goes to 350mm |

i dont want to spend as £800 on a point and shoot either :-)
around the £250 mark.
so far considering:
Fujifilm F10
Fujifilm F810
Panasonic FX7 or FX8
Nikon Coolpix 7900
anyone got some feedback on these? |
