Today and tomorrow, Tamron/Bogen/Fuji is doing an Urban Seminar with professional Don Gale here at Calumet in Philadelphia. WELL, would you believe that all three companies were lending out equipment free of charge?

Tomorrow, I have the whole day to play around with...
SP AF 17-35mm 2.8-4 Di LD aspherical (IF)
AF 28-200mm f/3.8-5.6 XR aspherical (IF) Macro

Looking forward to shooting with both lenses, now let me ask this.

Do I need one of the Thing filters for the 17-35? I dont think that I do, but id like to make sure.

Bogen was lending out Tripods and heads, and Fuji was lending out S3s!!!

you don't need a filter for the tamron, but I do have a UV filter on mine because the camera shop put it on for me. The lens glass has never been exposed actually.

So Jeremy what did you think of the Tamy SP 17-35mm 2.8-4?

Plenty sharp, nice bokeh works decent in low light...I've lost my head over mine...

Taken today (but can't really say where just yet) with the Tamy SP 17-35mm

I'm going through images now from this weekend, I pretty much shot with just the 17-35, and I have to say, the lens is pretty damn good.

The Tamron AF17-35 was one of the lenses I have been looking at...but a lot of people say it ain't that different to the kit lens EF-s 18-55mm that came with my camera. So I'm figuring that the AF28-75mm may be a bit more versatile for me.

I can't afford to waste my money so I need to make the right choice!

It's night and day different when it comes to Quality... It's an excellent wide but if you need mid-range coverage the SP 28-75mm 2.8 is the way to go...I'm bidding on a couple right now. You may also want to look at the SP 28-105mm for just a little more reach. If you go Tamron stick with the SP Glass...

If you are going for a 28mm, I suggest getting the 28-135mm IS USM Canon. GREAT lens.
