Anyone have a trick to getting filters apart? I had 2 on my camera and they will not come apart now. They were not screwed on tight together..but I just can't seem to get them to seperate!

Thanks!

Yes, this happens to me. Try a rubber grip that you'd open cans with. They do sell some "filter unscrewer things". Sometimes I actually turn to tighten them and then unscrew them and for some reason that works too. They are so skinny and hard to grab.

Good luck.

Another time tested method is to beat the front of the lens at an angle on the edge of the the counter or run it under hot water. My grandmother taught me those years ago while trying to unstick Mason jars. It works.

I use a rubber band.

sometimes you will grip them so tight you actually distort them , making the two temporairly not round, thus impossible to twist. Simply not squeezing so tight works.......glad you got them apart.

To prevent this from happening again, go to home depot and get some teflon spray lubricant. Spray a little on a rag and carefully clean the threads with it.
WD-40 will work also, but dust and stuff will stick to it and make the problem worse. Dust does not stick to the teflon lube (works great for bike chains also).

That's a great idea! I'll have to remember that.

Daryl - Thanks for the Teflon tip, too.
