I think this would be a much stronger image if the bridge were more prominent. The way this particular shot (1st one) is composed looks more like a "tree shot that happens to contain a bridge". Try cropping this to vertical, leaving the bridge in the right half of the shot?
The second shot is beautiful. |

Can pedestrians walk on the bridge? If so then I would try to capture images there (similar to what I have done on my Sundial Bridge photos). Is this in Charleston? |

Yeah this is the new Bridge in Charleston, and I do have some shots from on the bridge.
However, because you have to be on the sidewalk, you really cant get some of the intresting shots you want with out getting hit by a car.
But I do have a few ones from on the bridge that turned out okay |

I understand what you were trying to Achive in the 1st but there is just too muc blue sky.. i agree in this case for vertical and croping..
the trees are boring too.. but the angle is interesting..
but 2nd.. is really good... well composed and exposed.. people intend to over exposed night shots and this one is just right..
im not sure about this.. but how about a panoramic one.. just to crop where there is a little bit black sky above the bridge...
again.. not sure.. but worth a try...
