Some of you have looked at some of these photos before. Here's a batch worked into a VERY ROUGH CD cover concept. All the text is fake - I'm just trying to get a feel for photo layout and conceptual strength. This guy played most of the instruments himself in his home studio, thus the reason for "multiple marks" throughout. He'll be distributing the CD to family and friends for an Xmas gift.
Front Cover...................... Back Cover

I think this is quite good, I would suggest you keep the bricks the in the Marquee, the same size as the bircks on the forefront, this will create a less distracting fishey effect and feel as if on the person and the frame were in the shot. |

I believe you already know how I feel about the brick wall concept. Still unchanged.

Front:
I think the bricks in the front are good. I don't like the bright white line on the inside of the picture frame. Take it out and darken the bricks in the picture and it'll probably work better. Where is the band name?
Back:
The image is nice, but it would be better if there was some visual tie-in to the front.
Inside sleeve:
Needs a lot of work. I don't like the tall stretched purple font, nor does the photo underneath it match the interest quality of the front cover. It seems too much like a common snapshot. Since, by the time you open the CD, you already know the name of the group, I'd downsize the font and increase the size of the photo. How come you have the name of the group on the inside and only the name of the album on the outside? |

aboutimage: Thanks for the detailed critique. Your thoughts help me refine the concept a lot!
res: Thanks! Great suggestions!
pawdrix: Yes, I remember the brick wall discussion well! Shared the website with Mark, but he is still determined to go through with it.
Gil: I'll see what I can do about the brick discontinuity.
Thanks all!!

hey strangehost, I dig that front cover...I think it suits this guy very well. Not into the font on the back cover or inside. That needs work to look professional.
