Every so often I get a hand-me-down copy of Via Magazine which is put out by AAA. It usually gets tossed in the Thinkin' Room (some of you know it as the bathroom). Anyway, the July/August issue was pretty interesting but having read most of the articles twice I was glancing at the adverts in the back when I hit page 75 with an ad for OneDerWear, one use, disposable underwear. The copy partially read, "Eliminate the hassle of traveling with dirty underwear forever!"

Umm, ewwwwwwww.

Goes on to say it's great for, traveling, camping, dorm life, exercising, and emergencies. Now, depending on what they mean by emergencies I can see that but for the rest, ewww, ewww, ewwwww, and ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. I don't think I'll ever look at the exercise equipment at the gym the same way again.

Apparently they now also make disposable socks. The horror of pondering what type of stank would require the use of disposable socks nearly boggles the mind.

Anyways, the concept kinda grossed me out, so much like I had to share the smell of the milk container that was a month expired with my SO, I thought I'd share this with you people. :)

That's an interesting response to the concept there, dude...

People who spend a lot of time on the road and who also care about their personal hygiene have a bit of a dilemma. They put on clean underwear and socks every day. They have to do SOMETHING with the dirty stuff. This means either washing/drying it before repacking (a hassle) or bringing a sealable plastic bag to pack it up in as it gets dirty.

Now there's a third option, disposable unmentionables. Why you consider this to be "ewwww" is a mystery to me. Seems like a fairly brilliant marketing concept from my perspective.

But on the upside.... if you go on a trip to Columbia... you can trash your dirty undies and make room for one more kilo.

Another innovation in underwear, packaging that dissolves in the wash.

Just come home from the store and toss the whole thing right in your washer and push start. The packaging already contains detergent and fabric softener.

This is no lie....and probrably too much info for the average user. But when I was a kid I would have "racing stripes" in my shorts. We lived on a farm and I would throw them out the window. Unfortunately we had a dog that would take them and burry them and then dig them back up. I was about 5-6. Well we moved to the city and I was about 8-9 and we lived in a regular ole house. I got a little smarter and opened the window and threw out the undies on top of out flat roof (yeah we have flat roofs in NM). Well unfortunately it was winter and my dad had to fix something on the roof and he broguth my my frozen underwear. Ok that was a good story now moving on.

What you need to do is get 52 pair of underwear and wear one per week then burn them =). In the great words of Tom Petty " Now I am freeeeeeeeeeee Free ballllinn"
