Exact same thing happened to me - when I ordered my Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 online, then went out and bought one 'cause I couldn't wait 3 weeks! Now we have 1 for the 20D, and 1 for the 10D - worked out great!

Gee, with shipping costs and the hassle and all...you'd be better off just selling it to me for oh, say...$600?

theres no way there getting me to pay for shipping it back to them,

Quick, whole you have both, do some testing and see if one performs visibly better than the other. Test at 24mm ad 70mm at f/2.8. Look at sharpness in corners and center of frame, and also do a test for CA, e.g. dark, fine branches against bright sky.

Yep, I agree...Canon is not known for consistency in QC so chances are that one lens is a better 'copy' than the other...keep the winner, I say!

I'd be interested in seeing if there is a noticible difference between the two lenses. If you see any, maybe you can post them.
