Found this guy in the yard this evening - first one I've shot in its natural environment (unless fresh-out-of-the-freezer is a natural environment). I thought spiders made very neat and symmetrical webs? This looks like shoddy workmanship to me. Comments welcome.

I had to read your post twice to realize that:

1) You NORMALLY shoot spiders that were recently in your freezer...

and

2) On this one UNUSUAL day, you found one in your backyard...

Hmmm... I'm going to have to ask just WHERE in Seattle do you live????

;-)

j/k P.S. I have a house up in the Seattle area and I REALLY miss the PACNW.

I live just North of the city in a very small suburban town. Can't say exactly where for fear of reprisals from members of this site. In fact, Kpriest is a very clever cover name. My real name is Chit. ;-)

Let me know if you ever get up this way and I'll buy you a beer.

Indeed. I'm not certain he could navigate himself out of a wet paper bag, but OK!! Hey they have GREAT beer up there. I'm a big fan of an ESB maker that's fairly close to Everett, but damned if I can remember their name. Redhook? Not sure. Anyway, my place is outside Marysville, and I REALLY REALLY miss the area.

I have an incredible sunset photo from the Everett area. I otta post it.

That's the stuff. They are a really great company, by the way. When my old ship pulled in from deployment, Red Hook donated something like 400 CASES of the large bottles (not the normal 12 oz ones, the huge ones) to the ship's crew. Needless to say, I managed to find myself on the team of people who picked up said cases. And NO, I ABSOLUTELY DID NOT squirrel away the 2 extra cases that they offered me. I did the honorable thing and said "No way, man, I don't drink"....

Yep, that's how it happened...

Silly me, I had the photo of the Everett sunset uploaded already. I didn't see it because I had renamed it to "Seattle Sunset", thinking that most people would have no clue where Everett is.
