I'm just checking the DP Review and FM sites and it's a buzz with talk about Canon releasing information on an upcoming camera. Either a replacement or an update to the 20D or a "tweener" that many are calling the 3D. Does anyone actually have some reliable reports so far?

A month after you buy the 20D they will inevitably announce the 30D :P

I had heard this same thing- although I first heard it was going to be a 30D, then heard it was going to be a digital version of the EOS 3 (thus the 3D). And that price wise it would be higher than the 20D but considerable lower than 1D. I called the guys at my old Camera Store and the only thing they had heard was that there would probably be a new Canon dSLR coming out in late September for Christmas, but no idea what it would be.

| I sure hope it happens...I have my eye on a 20d this winter and I would love for a new model to inevitably lower the price of the 20d. |

| I actually sent an email to Canon asking them the same question. This seems to be the buzz on a few sites. They said I should know something in the next day or two. I will keep everyone posted when I know. |

There will ALWAYS be a new DSLR released each and every year...look at what fits your needs and budget now and don't fret about future releases...no point...

i have a canon SD110.. i hear they're going to replace it soon, but i just can't see how they'd improve on it. maybe a 2.5x zoom instead of a 2?

YES there is a new camera coming out... eventually. It MAY be this fall, it might not. There's too much speculation about the camera, and most of it is rediculous. When it's about ready, they'll send out preview models to the reviewers and we can see for sure.

They are saying no right now. There is a camera out called the 20Da, which can be found on their products website under Astrophotography. There are some really neat photos in there. Check it out.
