I accidentally deleted an entire folder off of my Hitachi Microdrive, but I heard that if you don't write to it again afterwards there's a possibility of retrieving it. Is this so, and how?

I used a program once when i did a similar thing, if you go to download.com, in the search field, type in things like, undelete files, things along the lines of that, and it will give you different programs u can try to get back the info, some are free ware and some are limited, it worked for me, it even works on memory cards, hard drives, you can have it search for a particular folder.,

Formatting and delete just makes the media able to write over the info, so if you don't write over it's physically still there like you said.

Thanks so much. I'll try it when I get home. :)

Try the program Easy Recovery by Ontrack Systems. I've used it and it has recovered 90% of the information on similar situations.

I've done the same thing and was able to recover the images using Image Recall 3. Their demo only allows the last ten pics to be revoered, but if you pay the $40 you have a program for life that'll be handy the next time you goof up.
