Now that the Affluence pictures are up for viewing, how about viewing the opposite? Besides, I have been shooting so many pictures with "beautiful" themes so here's the other side of the coin.
These are not new pictures. I post-processed my pictures from Nan 2 years ago with the purpose of creating a new pbase gallery of monochrome portraits. Comments will be appreciated.
I will have more coming. Check my pbase galleries in the next few days.

Dang Librodo - beautiful and depressing. What is missing, IMO, is a story for each child. Very well done photos though - like you need to hear that from me. :)
edit: I see you fixed the thumb issue.

Thank you so much for the comments. These encourage me to post more from that trip. Once I have over 20 that I post-processed, I will alert your attention to a pbase gallery.

I don't want to reduce this to a technical discussion because the focus here is the subjects (as it should be). But I have to ask how you get this perspective (what focal length lens). These are absolutely perfect... they feel close and intimate, which unusual these days with so many people using long lenses.

My first foray using dSLR. And not mine...my brother's Nikon D100. After the experience of shooting with dSLR, I bought my own D70. Lens was also his. It is a Nikkor 24-85 f2.8 (not sure about the fstop). It is an amazing lens.

These are very good images. Just looking at the images makes me very sad. I know there are places in the world like that. That is why it is so important to give to foundations that support these children.

As always, your images are very emotive. I could see these in a magazine accompanying a human interest story.
