I just wanted to blow my trumpet for a second....and let you all know that I got my second POTD at AzColt (www.azcolt.com) - titled Stones in the Mist. Any comments/critique more than welcome.

Congratulations--very nice shot.
It looks like a great scene, and a great time for the capture. However, it looks like it was noisy and you used Neatimage on it. There's green channel noise in the rocks, and some appearance of a little too much neatimage smoothing.
You might think about trying some further editing on it. Or you can try putting the original (just reduced) in an editing challenge. It looks like it has even greater potential than POTD with some careful photoshop. It would be interesting to see what the PS gurus here would come up with!

Thanks for your comment. I completely agree with what you said. Actually, I'm kinda surprised it was picked as a POTD!
I haven't had NI too long and am still trying to get the hang of it. The main problem was the image was fairly noicy to start with, but I didn't want to lose the effect of the mist in noice reduction. I tried selecting just the sky and stones using a gradient selection but I think I'll give it another go.
If anyone here would like to have a go too I'd be more than happy to supply the original! |
