Tamron SP AF17-35mm F/2.8 Di LD
Tamron SP AF28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di LD

for portraits the 28-70. The 28 won't be very wide at a wedding, but it's a popular lens for that as well. They are both great lenses (if you can find them). I do have samples of the 17-35 if you're interested. I've seen many from the 28-70 that are excellent.

Unless you intend on doing mainly full body portraits, I'd recommend the 28-75.

The 28-75, since you have the canon kit lens.

i have the 28-75 and it has become my everyday walkaround lens. i dont know the specs on the 17-35 but I personally am thinking of getting either a 10-22 or 12-24 for wide angle, 17mm with the 1.6x conversion factor isnt as wide as it looks.

Probably the 28-75. For the other I'd recomend the Sigma 18-50 2.8 DC EX. But if you can get the Tamrons really cheap, you can't lose as you can sell them and make a buck!
I have the sigma and it is great for weddings. At times i wish I had an 80 or 100 on the long end.
