I have been booked to photograph a Quinceañera in December. I have read some on the internet about this celebration to get a better feel for what the critical parts of the ceremony and celebration are, but would be interested to know if any of you have done one of these, and have photos that I could check out.
I gather that it is very similar to a wedding, (minus the groom, of course!), but I would like to hear from someone who has done this.
Thanks so much,

Thanks! I had found the first website in my searching; and the second one with the photos is what I was looking for - trying to get an idea of what is considered traditional for this event.

Obviously the dances are going to be an important thing to take care of.. depending what they want, possibly the food and church as well. I don't know much about them (other than what I learned in my Spanish classes), but I think you can never take took many pictures of something like this. From what I remember, the ceremonial switching of the shoes (by her Father) is an important part of the ceremony as well. I'm sure there are others here who can shine more light on this - but if not, I hope that I was of some help.

Thanks so much, this is exactly the kind of thing that I need to know. They have given me a general idea of the kind of shots they want, but we have not discussed these little detail things. There is a "bit" of a language issue; them understanding me and vice-versa, so I would rather just be "up to speed" on what might be expected. |
