Very cool - the surf shot is a great action capture and the second shot is interesting too because it provides interest all the way into the far background. The last shot is a bit orange and has more flare than my taste normally allows, but overall you have some nice ones :)

You have probably figured it out already, but renting an "L" lens is a mistake. Once you've used one, it's hard to convince yourself that your current equipment is good enough.

I left you a comment on the first image.

lol...hard to go back. I wouldn't touch a friend's fast 70-200 when I had a 75-300 f/4-5.6 -- because I knew I would want one. Now you're stuck...you know what's out there. Just curious, was it the f/2.8 or f/4?

The IS only comes in the 2.8 ;P

You RENTED it? How much was that?? Isn't that the $1600 version? I'm about to buy the next step down (same lense, no IS).

I'm not sure what rental prices are like in California, but my local camera shop (in Nebraska) rents lenses for +-$60/day, plus they place a hold on your credit card for the full price of the lens until you bring it back. But as mentioned above, the hidden cost is that once you've used "L" glass you'll almost certainly purchase it.

Nice shots! Is that Santa Cruz? It's a great lens and I love it. I waited oh-so impatiently for the tax refund to get it. Just think, if you rented it only 27 more times, that would be enough $$ to buy it. ;-)

The non-IS 70-200/2.8L is around $1200 I believe. (Can't remember what I paid!)

It would be helpful to the people you are asking to comment on your shots if you entered the exposure data when you uploaded them.

Yeah I rented it from Keeble & Schucat, for $48 Fri-Mon its $35 a day but on weekends they only charge you a Day and a half. I am dying to get one now. I will update the exposure data for the pics tonight. Thanks for all the comments.
