I need some very honest...no sugar criticism on this image. If you like it that's fine but give it your hardest look. Thanks in advance.

The light on the background is beautiful, but a little dark on her.

I agree about the lighting - she needs some fill flash or some reflector light or something. The model is very beautiful, but I am not a fan of bra-straps hanging out of tank tops and such. Also, you'd think she could get off the phone while you're taking her picture - geez. ;-)

It was taken to be used as a stock photo of someone using a cell phone. It was a bit rushed...maybe a 10 minute shoot.
All the input was truly helpful. I lost the brastrap, fixed that flower clone line (and yes that flower was moved over about 6 inches)...I lightened things up a bit with curves and I think that's it.
Is it a little better???

Definate improvement. Great composition. If I could be just a little picky though, I would have captured just a little more space above her head.
Other than that, great job. |

As you can see I had my hands full cloning out all the hair that blew into her face...on what I felt was one of the only good shots I caught.
What a nightmare, getting rid of that. It sent me reeling.

Great job on the photo. It could make a great stock photo. Looking at your portfolio, I have to add that you have a lot of great shots. |

Maybe it's just me but something is wrong with her eyes in this photo. A bit of cloning on the "bra strap" area. You can still make out where the lines used to be at. The lighting has improved a lot. Except for these other things, it looks like a great photo. |

Even with the second edit...there is something weird going on with the one flower in the lower left. It's distracting and part of one petal is cut off due to cloning or something to that extent.

OK boys and girls...
I know the purple tank might not work for some of you but the white wasn't cutting it with me. The brastrap is completely gone and I blurred that flower as far as it would go. I get the feeling this will pass with the client BTW....they seem to have no complaints about anything at all. Her right eye was tough because of the hair that was covering it...I have a big problem cloning eyes to make them look natural...can't do it for some reason. Any last licks on this version would be appreciated as well. Thanks again you guys...this has all been a great help.

It's great what you've been able to do with that image. She's a beautiful woman, so that helps right away. I'm just wondering one thing...do people ever add catchlights in eyes when there aren't any?
I'm not a pro, but I've done it a couple of times just playing aroung. When I'm painting I always add them.
Just a thought.

BTW I'm not a PS guys so I tire easy, even on this little stuff.

I think the hair is fine. |

Personally I don't see why you would take a portrait of somebody on the phone... but if that's what you/she wanted that's fine. Her face is way too dark, you need longer exposure. A lot of people feer blowing out the white shirt, but I think the face is THE most important part of a portrait. The only exception is if you must expose for the eyes. Now from the looks of it, if you had exposed much longer you might have blown out part of her face, now that's not good news. Because of that I would suggest using reflectors, or a flash to brighten up the darker side of her. Her hair also looks completely black, I cannot see (at least on this monitor) any detail in it. Again, flash, reflector fix. Her bra is showing, generally, people don't like this. Many younger people don't seem to mind, but I know that my mother for example, and a friend I took pictures of (where I had to clone out a whole strap) really were against showing underwear. On the possitive side... She looks very natural which is great! If she's this natural looking during photo sessions, you're sure to get some great results! I love the backround, great choice! However, I think you should open up the F stop more, and blur it somewhat more. Either that or bring her further away from it to get a similar effect. Hope this helps.

i think its a pretty good shot for what it is, BUT, and i hate to be a buzzkill...the cloning under her eye/ around her nose is pretty obvious and looks like a blotch to me. I don't know why anyone hasn't said anything about this yet, or maybe it really isn't that noticeable to anyone else? Just thought I would let you know. |

I notice it and I might go back and leave the hair in her face where it is since Mpemberton (Michael) says it's ok. I'll give them a choice. Again that's where my PS skills leave a little to be desired, or maybe it's just hard as sh*t to do well.
Kyebosh-It was taken to be used as a stock photo of someone using a cell phone. It was a bit rushed...maybe a 10 minute shoot. Look at the retouched version with the purple top.

Yeah, the hair in the face looks like a ton of work that might only be worth it if it is flawless. I played around with your first image, perhaps more than necessary considering it it only a low-res version. Tons of cloning on the bra and in the shirt, forehead, nose, flower, etc. Curves masked to bring up the shadows in the face. Beautiful girl, worth the time.

Hell...I'll give you the original...no question. I like what you did. It looks warmer and the eye looks smoother. Or tell me what you did?

I almost sent you the psd file but basically it would just show you the curves settings and none of the clone work that you can already see in the one above. I'd be happy to play around with the original if you didn't need this for anything that is time-sensitive. Basically, I cloned little chunks at a time where I could still tell where cloning was done and added a couple glints in the eyes as greatandsmall suggested. It looks like the hair requires quite a bit of reconstruction if removed. It wasn't too tough on such a small version, but the larger might be.

I just did it and it looks much smoother but that eyelid is a killer.
Still and all...much improved over the first version that I posted.
I appreciate all the time and help from everybody.
