Well, mother duck died trying to get her chicks across 20 EST. I could not bring myself to take the picture. Only three chicks survived the horror story of dealing with mans self centered need for speed, at the expense of nature. Two other fellows, and myself spent the better part of an hour capturing the third chick. Now all are safe and sound in the hands of SPCA.
I told someone the story. They said that is life. I said, I guess we are lucky ducks do not drive cars.

They are SO cute! I'm really glad that you were able to rescue them and deliver them to someone who will look after them! I suppose that it is part of life, in the sense that we created the danger and the situation, and this kind of thing is bound to happen. But that doesn't mean that we cannot have some compassion. And I had to laugh at your response - it's too true!
