We live in an RV and today my husband cleaned out the AC units up on the roof. He found this little gal living in the unit and, in his insensitive way, threw it out onto the car and left it to bake. Knowing how much I love critters, he did think to mention it to me. I rescued her and gave her a good temporary home.

Here's the problem. I live in South Florida and these giant Cuban Tree frogs are invasive. In order to preserve native fauna, I am supposed to kill it. Can't bring myself to do it. As previously mentioned, I live in an RV, and don't have a place to keep her.

Are there any Non-Floridian amphibian collectors around who might like to give her a good home? Please let me know and I will make arrangements to get her to you. You must promise to provide the proper type of living arrangements.

Thanks,
Roxanne

I can take the little bugger. How much do you charge for shipping to Finland?

Ummm...I'll have to check on that. I need to research how to safely ship it that far.

PS, I have seen more of these at a friend's house. If anyone else wants one, contact me, and I'll keep an eye out.

Invasive, but they are everywhere down there so what is the difference if you let it go? One frog is not going to make a difference. It's not like you imported the thing from Cuba.

Um, don't mean to rain on your idea but if Florida has banned them, wouldn't shipping them out of Florida also be a no no? Just curious, I'd be real careful how you handle this. Lots of states are starting to come up with lots of regulations concerning reptiles and the likes.

Maybe so. I researched it on the UF website and it said no shipping native amphibians. They are sold as pets throughout the US, and I figured since I am not selling it, that it shouldn't be a problem. I will check it out further, though.

Update...So far, I haven't found any regulations prohibiting interstate shipping of Cuban Tree frogs. I wouldn't send them anywhere they could live in the wild. Still need to check out individual state regulations. Exporting may be a problem though. Need to check with Customs. If anyone has experience with this, please let me know.

My boys and I have been looking for a frog like this. They are hard to come by here in the big city of Canyon, Texas. I would be interested, as long as it is legal.

Perhaps you can help me research the legalities? From what I can tell, I may need to get a permit with the Fish & Wildlife Commission. Other than that, I think it's OK.

The earliest I can check into it would be Monday.

invasive how? what do they do that makes Fish and Game want to kill them?

They are voracious eaters and drive native animals out of their habitats.
