I agree. This is just crap. Every week someone puts in their photo out takes or does something like this and I am really sick of it.

It does influence voting. Why an SC member does not lock these types of threads dumbfounds me.

The challenge title and details are all you need. Adding other peoples interpretations to them restricts creativity.

The posts where someone asks how to do a long exposure, and someone responds with technical advise on how to set up your camera, are about all that could be termed helpful. Remarks about subject matter or appearance should be held until after voting.

Well, it was HARD to do with my point and shoot, but I entered. It sucks. But I wanted to try anyway. That is what is so great about DPC, I have taken pictures of things and shot them in a way I would have NEVER done before.

And now I'm all confused, because I think I submitted a photo with the wrong exposure time. I'm just a dummy as it comes to techniques. The lower the number the longer the exposure time???
So..1/4000 is really short and 1/500 (or lower) is long?

You may call me stupid, but after that, please tell me?

yeah...you want slower shutter speeds...(1/500 seems normal speed for me)

You're correct Titia. A 1/500 shot is a longer exposure than a 1/4000 shot.

Mine is like 2.5 to 3 seconds....did I go too long? I don't know what I am doing when it comes to the controls. I just adjust and snap snap snap till I like how it turns out and then try to remeber what I did.

I made a new one, but I'm sure the brown ribbon is mine this time. I hope they'll appreciate some humor and if not, who cares as long as I had fun.

edit: oh yea...I managed to take it at 1,3 sec.
