Actually, there's a reason for that one: peanuts aren't nuts, they are legumes. But they are sometimes packed by the same processing plant that does actual nuts. Some packages at crossover may contain traces of walnuts, almonds, whatever. Thus the warning.

Come to think of it, there are reasons for all of them, eh? But mainly they seem glaringly obvious... jejejeā„¢

I'm trying to remember what the power tool was that I saw years ago with the label "Not for home or commercial use"... Say what?

That's because some lady successfully sued McD's (for six figures, I think) after she spilled their coffee in her lap.

I find it funny that that same warning is on a thermos I have. Thanks for warning me I put hot coffee in my own thermos. Guess I can't sue myself now.

Like we say in Iceland: "ONLY IN AMERICA!"

Yesterday I went to McDonalds and had an Icecream. They were out of icecream cups and served it to me in a coffee cup. As I read the lable "Warning Contents May Be Hot!" I managed to get a little laugh. MaybeI should have spilled the icecream on my lap and sued Mcdonalds because the icecream was cold.

I asked them that once, if I got brain freeze from their shakes could I sue them cause they didn't tell me it was cold? They didn't laugh much. lol

In america they have a lot of little pictures of DON'T on things that to a non-american is quite hilarious - so i will share one for the other nonamericans.

The Coke machines have a little don't drawing on it that indicates that you shouldnt attempt to pull the coke mashine on top of yourself if it doesnt spit out a can of coke.

buckets come with a dont drawing that indicates that you should not fill the bucket with water then drown a baby in it.

saftey instruction of america through the eyes of a forgeiner are wonderful terrible thingshaha

My favourite is:

'May cause drowsiness' on a package of sleeping pills.

I would hope so.

The first time I saw it I had to sit, cz I was laughing quite histerically. It was on coke machine located at DBCC - Daytona.

But it's all good, I mean, ppl sue companies for the most ridiculous things, so they gotta be prepared for eveything. If it's in the label, you're "aware" of it! Genitals in their respective places or not, you are aware!

spelling

You must remember that the engineers and lawyers don't just thnk this stuff up. It took a disgruntled customer to think up the idea of tipping the machine over onto themselves to try and get a $1 soda, then suing the company for a million bucks because the machine's not bolted down or something.

I'm pretty sure every one of these labels is there only because someone else did the thing--so why criticize the companies for putting on the warnings?

It is impossible to make anythng foolproof, because fools are so ingenious.

Also, the lady that burnt herself at McDonald's suffered 3rd degree burns from scalding hot water. We love to laugh at stupidity and eat up urban legends and pass along emails but we need to be critical of the information we receive.

And no, it wasn't my Mom.

you ain't seen nothin yet!

A masturbating machine-shop worker catches his scrotum in a piece of machinery and tears it open, then staples it back together and resumes work before finally visiting a doctor three days later.
