I think the processing hurts it a lot... it makes your face look bright red and the blur is overdone in my opinion. Great eyes, though need more of a catchlight perhaps :)

Left comments. I don't suppose you'd be willing to send me the unedited original? I'd like to play! |

Thanks for sending me the source file. I had fun!
I felt obligated to bring out one of your other nice features - your hair. I couldn't bear leveling it out with an adjustment layer. It's just too pretty. Eyes and lips have been color-saturated a bit.
I'm probably guilty of over-processing (too much NeatImage, perhaps), but I sent you the PSD, with layers, so you can play with it.

Oops, I think my first submission was a bit too dark... Let's try this one instead:

Well, I have nothing to add to the improvements folks have made except to put my trademark spin on it and say that you have matching eye color and make a great "Beauty and the Beast" type couple. :P
PS: next to my own, I like BradP's Edit1 version the best.

Here's a quick shot at it, attempting to preserve the general "feel" of the darkish original but with more natural tones. I'm not entirely happy with the work under the left eye, though.
Robt.

I think the "origanal" was underexed and was way to saturated with reds....this makes it quasi imposible to save. |

Wow, are you serious? Your eyes are that color? That's awesome!
Just curious... do you know about a painter's wheel and color theory? I pulled your red shirt into the painter's wheel and found that the color of your eyes is almost an exact complementary color to the shirt. That's probably why you like red, huh?!?
Right now the shirt and the background seem to compete with each other. So... what I was wondering is this: What if you take the complementary colors idea a bit further? Use the color wheel to determine another "matching color" for the background. One that goes well with your eyes and your shirt, but doesn't compete with either one.
Also, I would forgo the pattern if possible... the pattern competes with your face and I'd much rather be looking at those eyes! :-)

your such a tease ;P give me all that info about a color wheel then not tell me another color that would compliment.....u want to share another color?

Here's an example of a color wheel. |

Heres my unprofessional opinion :)
I found the first photo to be quite red in the face as well and something about the glow or softness to it didn't appeal to me. Most of the edits didn't keep me from looking at it and thinking, hmmmm something is just not quite right.
Now with the second photo, although I didn't care for the background I think you look much more natural and pretty. |

I like to use a program called ColorImpact. You can find it here.
The neat thing is that you can point to any color in a picture (or anywhere on your screen) and then use the color wheel to find the exact complement or other matching values.
It would be good to read up a bit on what the color wheel does for you... |
